6th Grain has partnered with France’s Actura to deploy A6G, a new digital agriculture tool. The Actura Group is a national network for the distribution and marketing of plant protection products, seeds, nutrition, and services, bringing together 128 associate members representing 145 companies spread throughout France. The A6G tool has been tested for 2 years with companies in the Actura Group network.
The A6G application allows the farmer to monitor the state of crop vegetation for each farm plot, thanks to NDVI images updated on average every three days. The tool contains additional functions that provides a vegetation curve for each field, allowing for crop health evolution tracking to be measured throughout the campaign by integrating historical weather data, a spray schedule, activities, and recommendations.
Exclusively offered by members of the Actura network in France, the A6G application is designed to optimize exchanges between the farmer and advisor. A6G allows users to make observations on fields via in-app photo upload and commenting system. Once validated, these observations are automatically shared by email, drastically facilitating the exchange of information between involved parties. These observations can lead to the triggering of a possible remote diagnosis and farmer response.
According to Eric Barbedette, Managing Director of the Actura Group, the A6G tool “is part of our strategic orientations of creating value for the players in the sector and contributing to the development of responsible and innovative agriculture".
